About Geeks and Glitter

Yes! We are that family. This is the Star Wars midnight premiere back in December of 2015.
Hey y’all (that’s how we say it here in Georgia). Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my blog, which, by the way, I am super, super, did I say super already, excited about. I really think you will enjoy it, and hopefully take something very special away from it.

So yeah, I never thought when I started using the creative side of my brain that people would actually like the stuff I made, but I guess they did. As I started getting more confident, and more and more people started seeing what I was doing, I decided to start a blog… partly because I got tired of telling people how to make things because most of the time I am met with looks of confusion. People always ask, “You saw something this cool in that?” This allows me not only the means of explaining in detail to friends and family how to make a project, but also reach out to a broader audience and allow others to hopefully discover a love for doing what they love, no matter how GEEKY or ridiculous it may seem.

I love to create, especially with my children, which is how Geeks and Glitter came about, or as I like to call it G.A.G. Because I have a boy and a girl, my life is consumed with superheroes, anime and of course ALL THINGS DISNEY. I bounce ideas off of my children, and often times, my best inspiration comes from projects they are working on and I build on them.

I want moms and dads to understand, that their kids are brilliant and can create beautiful art, IF given the chance. While it may be stressful, and believe me when I say there are days where I just don’t want to involve my kids in a project because I know it could be a hassle, it WILL BLESS YOU.
Involve your children, pick a project and make it a play date. You can’t imagine how wonderful it is when you see your children create something they are happy with for the first time. Please take a look around and be blessed.
